Glycol Reclamation
How It Works
The ElectroSep® process for glycol reclamation is a highly efficient and low-waste removal of salt and acids that can contaminate glycol solvents–especially chlorides and sulfates from produced water.
Inorganic and organic salts, as well as acids, can be introduced into glycol dehydration and hydrate inhibition systems through transfer from produced water and well treatment fluids.
Excessive levels of salts and acids in glycol systems can lead to operating problems such as:
- Corrosion
- Foaming
- Excessive filtration requirements
- Reduced performance
Glycol reclamation is important to maintain a healthy, reliable, and predictable system in dehydration and hydrate inhibition systems.
The ElectroSep process does not require any chemical for operation; ions are removed to process water and discharged as brine. The ElectroSep reclamation process can be used with both glycol flow assurance or hydrate inhibition systems, as well as glycol dehydration systems.
Application Benefits
